Education

A particular attention is given to the systemic and oriented professional specialization of the employees.

The Institute for Respiratory Diseases in Children – Skopje is affiliated to the Medical Faculty in Skopje , University “St. Cyrill and Methodius” and took a part in teaching responsibility of Pediatrics and Pneumophtisiology, and a part of specialization program of Pediatrics, Pneumophtysiology and School Medicine.

Two doctors of medical science as professor of pediatrics and docent of pediatrics and 2 assistants of pediatrics at the Medical Faculty participate in teaching program. Participation involves 1 psychologist, 1 pediatrician with Master degree (pediatric bronchology), 1- physiologic biochemistrist, Master degree. One final postgraduate exam of pediatric pneumology is expected in Belgrade , 5 physicians are on their postgraduate studies.

Professional and science activities

Health workers and co-workers have active participation on all professional meetings in our country and abroad. Poster or oral presentations on these meetings are presented. There are a great number of published professional reports in Medical Journals.

During past 10 years, 4 books oriented to the different fields of pediatric respiratory diseases are published:

• "Asthma and your child", authors Prof. d-r Predrag Trandafilovski and Doc.d-r Gordana Badzakova
• "Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease in Childhood", author Prof. d-r Marija Maneva

More of our pediatricians are members of European Respiratory Society, European Association on Allergology and Asthma.

All of them are members of Macedonian Doctors Chamber, Macedonian Physicians Association, Macedonian Association on Pediatrics, Macedonian Respiratory Society.

The other specialists are members of related Associations.

During its long history, this Institute had a part of science-researching project working on the field of on pediatric respiratory diseases.
